Does God Create Evil?

This is an interview that I believe helps a lot with the question of evil in this world. Its an NPR Interview after the tsunami that hit Asia a few years ago. Pretty applicable to the Haiti crisis today.

    It's funny that you title says "creates" evil. That implies that He is creating evil currently. Isn't it easier to think of God giving us the choice to accept Him or evil? Or that evil was created at the beginning of time and we (human beings) are the ones who are perpetuating the evil.

    I can't get my mind around tonight's discussion.
